Why The Creativity Program Isn't Worth It Anymore

It's important to understand the reasons for leaving TikTok's Creativity Program. At first glance, it might seem like an easy way to make money. However, here are several issues many creators face within the program:

Not Eligible for "For You" Feed

Violating TikTok's constantly changing guidelines even once could prevent your next 10 videos from getting any views. This significantly reduces the effectiveness of your content.

Lower RPM Over Time

Initially, TikTok promised a high CPM ($ 4-$ 8), but over time, it has drastically dropped to between $ 1-$ 4, usually on the lower end.

High Competition

Once you find a profitable niche, expect demonetization, or have competitors who will quickly copy your content and possibly outperform you. This volatility makes it hard to sustain long-term earnings.

Unoriginal and AI Generated Content Restrictions

In the early days, creators could easily earn by clipping content from other platforms. However, TikTok has cracked down on unoriginal content and AI-generated content, reducing potential earnings significantly.

The Financial Reality of Creativity Program

As TikTok takes a large cut, creators end up with minimal earnings. Considering low CPMs, reduced "qualified views," and other factors, most people end up making significantly less than they initially expected.

My New Strategy: Selling Products

Given the drawbacks of the Creativity Program, I pivoted towards selling my own products. Here's how:

  1. Product Creation I created a product, tested it with TikTok ads, and received positive feedback without complaints or refunds.

  2. Affiliate Program I transitioned from Garad to Shopify to enable an affiliate program. For each sale made through affiliate links, participants earn $ 10 (50% of the sale price).

  3. Optimization With optimization, the commission percentages can increase, making it more lucrative for affiliates.
