I Built an EXTREME TikTok Shop Gaming Setup for $958
Introduction
Today, I decided to put together a gaming setup using products I found on TikTok Shop. I was curious to see if it was as good as all the hyped videos claim. Let’s dive into the components and see how they all perform!
The PC
First up is the PC. After hooking everything up, I was relieved to see it power on successfully. The CPU is an Intel i7 4th Gen, and the GPU is an RX 5700 XT—two crucial specifications. I'll list the rest of the specifications on screen for anyone interested. Overall, the PC sports decent specs for gaming at a budget-friendly price.
The Monitor
Next, I set up the monitor. It’s a 27-inch gaming monitor from Cory, featuring a curved design. The specifications are impressive: 1440p resolution, 1-millisecond response time, and a refresh rate of 144Hz. I got all of this, including the monitor, for just $ 116!
Upon unboxing the monitor, I was surprised at the design and ease of assembly. The stand is incredibly user-friendly, requiring no screws—just a couple of clicks, and it’s ready to go!
Keyboard and Mouse Pad
I also picked up a highly-praised keyboard that I had seen trending on TikTok. The keyboard feels remarkably good, and the design is sleek.
In addition, I purchased a mouse pad featuring an aqua swirl design, which came with a nice addition—a headphone hook.
Headset
For audio, I went with the SZOR X100 headset. This headset turned out to be quite comfy. Interestingly, they accidentally sent me two headsets, so I’ll be giving one away to my viewers—just comment if you're interested!
Gaming Mouse
Lastly, I received a free gaming mouse with my PC. Although it worked, it felt quite cheap. I ordered a different mouse from TikTok Shop, but it’s been a month with no sign of it. Luckily, the free mouse served its purpose temporarily.
Performance Testing
Now, onto the performance tests! We ran a 3D Mark test on Time Spy and scored 7,197, which is impressive for a $ 600 PC at 1440p Ultra settings.
However, in another benchmark (Fire Strike), the results were less favorable, as we scored 5,989. Moving on to actual games, we tested three popular titles: Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Fortnite.
Overwatch
In Overwatch, performance was solid with the settings set to low, holding steady at 144fps, which is commendable for this setup.
Call of Duty
As for Call of Duty, it had some challenges. Initially, the game lagged due to shaders, but once resolved, performance improved to 80-100 fps, still quite remarkable for the price.
Fortnite
Lastly, Fortnite yielded varying performance. Although it flashed 400 fps at load, optimization was required for a smoother experience. After adjustments, it performed decently, albeit with some stuttering.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this gaming setup. For less than $ 1,000, the quality was high, and the games were enjoyable to play. My only significant concern was the mouse, but swapping it out drastically improved my gaming experience.
Would you consider building a setup like this for under $ 1,000? I think it’s an excellent deal, especially for budget-conscious gamers.
