How To Use TikTok and Google Analytics to Improve Your Content and Website Performance

Hey everybody, happy Friday! Kim here. As promised, we are going live. Let me ensure I have the live feed up here on my phone. There we are, and I've got it. Okay, so we are, it says, there we go. There's just a little bit of a delay, but let me silence this.

There's just a little bit of delay, anyway, guys. Welcome to my marketing analytics session. Actually, I'm calling this data-driven affiliate marketing. Welcome to this live session. I'm excited about this, really excited about this. I've been wanting to talk about analytics for a while. I posted a TikTok earlier this week about why you're not getting sales. One of the reasons I pinpointed was because you need to be taking care in looking at your analytics.

So, what do I mean by analytics? Well, that's the data generated from various tracking devices on, number one, your TikToks—TikTok does a good job showing you how your content is performing. We’re going to dive into that. We'll also talk about how this translates into what your funnel is doing if you're working with a funnel.

Now, I don’t have my website connected yet, so that might be a training for another day. I'm just now getting my website set up, so at some point, I want to talk about that too—about how you can track various pages on your website and so on. But today, I will show you a tool you can use to do that, and we’ll use that same tool to analyze a funnel. I’ll show you how I’m using it to analyze my funnel and how you can set it up.

Lastly, we’ll talk a little about setting up your business. I’ll show you what I did and what you might do to start or set up your LLC, get your taxes set up, and start paying quarterly taxes. Then, I have a special announcement.

Without further ado, let's dive into it. I have my funnel—this is actually my affiliate marketing funnel, my legendary funnel. You have seen me talk about this before. This is a simplified version created in Funalytics. Funalytics also has analytics, but I use the free version that does not include this feature. Funalytics can provide comprehensive analytics if you have the pro version, though I haven’t really explored that.

For free, Google Analytics can give you something super powerful. It can really be effective in providing the data and information needed to determine if your funnel performs to its potential.

First, we will explore how the funnel is performing, specifically the landing and bridge pages. We’ll then look at TikTok’s analytics, considering how well your content leads to further engagement.

Let's minimize this fan, and let’s jump into TikTok. On TikTok’s desktop version, you can see better analytics than on mobile versions. Go to “View Analytics” to start.

Analyzing TikTok Data

In the analytics section, look under engagement. You will find information about video views, profile views, likes, comments, and shares over various time periods (7, 28, 60 days). If I switch to profile views over the last 28 days, I can see where there has been the most engagement.

On doing this on my profile, I found that on January 20th, there was a notable spike with 436 profile views. This was an outlier that prompted an analysis of the content posted on that day.

Revisiting the content from that day, I found a short video with a good hook, a story, and a call to action. That video had 8,664 views and 232 likes, but more importantly, it led to the most profile views for that month. It's essential for your posts to draw enough interest to lead viewers to your profile.

ClickFunnels Analytics

Next, I checked the analytics on my ClickFunnels account. For this, I checked the stats for January 20th on my landing page. It showed 24 unique views, with 12 clicking through, equating to about 60%. When I ran the same check on my funnel, the data was more ambiguous due to discrepancies in reported opt-ins and page views.

This discrepancy indicates that ClickFunnels may not provide the most reliable data, which is why external analytics tools are pivotal.

Google Analytics

Finally, we examined Google Analytics, which offers robust tools for tracking and analysis. It’s set up for real-time tracking, offering detailed insights into your funnel’s performance. The real-time view confirmed some ClickFunnels statistics but also provided valuable additional details, such as average engagement times.

Google Analytics is more reliable as it provided concrete data (average engagement of 14 seconds, average session engagement of 11 seconds) over one day for my new setup.

Setting Up Your LLC

Here I used a tool called ZenBusiness. This tool made it very straightforward to set up my LLC. I created my LLC, received my EIN certificate, and ordered additional services like operating agreements and worry-free compliance all for $ 149. ZenBusiness also offers a CPA consultation, which I scheduled for understanding my business taxes better.

Conclusion

This post provided a step-by-step guide on using TikTok and Google Analytics to improve your content and website performance. By closely monitoring engagement through analytics tools, you can determine where you need improvement and make data-driven decisions.
