How to Install TikTok Pixel with Shopify New Update

Step 1: Access TikTok Business Manager
Some people install apps for pixel installation, but we are going to do it in a simple way. First, ensure that your TikTok account is logged in. Open the TikTok Business Manager, and after waiting for a few moments for it to load, you will be prompted for verification. Enter your email address, which will receive an OTP. Copy and paste the OTP to verify and proceed.
Step 2: Set Up TikTok Pixel
An interface welcome to the Event Manager will appear. Click on "Get Started," select "Web," and proceed to "Manual Setup." Name your pixel, and apply a template if needed. Click 'Next' and proceed with the event builder. Check the option for automatic matching and finish the setup. Copy the base code of TikTok pixel from the instructions.
Step 3: Install Base Code in Shopify
Now go to your Shopify dashboard. Click on "Online Store," then "Themes," and select "Edit code." In the "Edit Code" section, find the <head> tag in the theme's code and paste the base code of TikTok pixel after pressing enter twice. Save the changes.
Step 4: Create Events
Go back to the TikTok Events Manager. Click on "Set Up Events," then "Event Builder Setup Event." Add events such as add-to-cart, initiate checkout, view content, and place an order. Save each event by providing them with a keyword for easy identification.
Step 5: Add TikTok Pixel Helper Extension
Open a new tab and search for "TikTok Pixel Helper." Add the extension to Chrome. Go back to TikTok's Event Manager and refresh the page.
Step 6: Test & Verify TikTok Pixel
In the Event Manager, go to "Test Event" and enter your store's URL to scan. This will allow TikTok to verify if your pixel is working correctly. You may use the TikTok app to scan the link directly. Once scanned, ensure that activity on your website, such as viewing a page, triggers the corresponding event on the TikTok Pixel Helper.
Your TikTok Pixel is now installed and verified, ensuring it is ready to track activities on your Shopify store accurately.
