Six Steps to Set Up an International TikTok Account

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

First, you need a smartphone, which you likely already have. You'll also need a VPN app like Windscribe, and of course, the TikTok app.

Step 2: Download a VPN

Download either Windscribe or another VPN from your Google Play Store or Apple App Store. For this article, we'll use Windscribe VPN. After downloading, open the app and create an account. Make sure to verify your email to get 10GB of data.

Step 3: Set Up Your VPN

Once your account is set up, open Windscribe and select “US Central” as your location. Pick “Atlanta Mountain” from the list of cities. You'll know your VPN is active when the icon turns green.

Step 4: Create Your TikTok Account

Using your browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.), visit TikTok and create a new account using your email address. Don't use your phone number unless it's a US number. After creating the account, log in and make sure to select the US as your country.

Step 5: Verify Your Account

To ensure your account is an international account, click on the three-bar menu at the top right, then click on “Creator Tools.” If you see options like Monetization, Subscription, and Creator Marketplace, your account is set up correctly.

Step 6: Criteria for Monetization

You need to meet certain criteria to monetize your TikTok account:

Have over 10,000 followers.
Get 100,000 views on your videos in the last 30 days.
Be above the age of 18.

These criteria are for direct TikTok payments. However, you can still receive brand deals and gifts even if you don't meet these criteria yet. Stay consistent and post original content.
