How Much TikTok Paid Me For 1,000,000 Views

Introduction

Hey everybody! In today's article, I want to share with you exactly how much TikTok paid me for a million views. TikTok has this feature called the TikTok Creator Fund, and they pay content creators based on the number of views they get. However, you have to apply and qualify to get into this fund. I’ve already made a video explaining how to get approved, so check that out if you’re interested in joining.

Here, I want to provide you with detailed analytics of my million views over a few days and show you exactly how much I got paid for those views. Besides using the TikTok app, you can also log in to TikTok.com to see some of your analytics.

Since I joined about a week ago, I've gotten 3.8 million views. However, a lot of those views were before I joined the Creator Fund. On the TikTok app, if you have a creator account and have joined the fund, you get access to Creator Tools, including the Creator Fund. Let me show you the analytics.

From the analytics:

  • 875,000 views on one day
  • 136,000 views on the next
  • 107,000 views on another day

This adds up to approximately 1.2 million views. Note that you need to reach 100,000 views before monetization kicks in. Unfortunately, my initial 2.9 million views were not monetized since they occurred before I joined the Creator Fund.

Now, let’s look at the earnings:

  • For 200,000 views, I earned $ 6.
  • For 875,000 views, I earned $ 23.
  • Subsequent views did not go viral, so another $ 3 was earned.

In total, over five days, I earned about $ 36. I’ve developed a strategy for going viral, managing to do it three times in seven days, though it’s not guaranteed every time.

The real advantage of TikTok is not how much they pay through the Creator Fund but the opportunity to go viral, gain a large audience, and direct those viewers to other platforms or products. For example, I tried to get people to my YouTube channel through TikTok, which didn’t work well due to how the browser opens links. However, linking to Instagram was more effective, and I gained a couple of hundred followers this way. You can also link your website, which is great if you have a product or service.

I’ll make a follow-up article to discuss other ways to monetize on TikTok, since the Creator Fund doesn’t pay much. Using TikTok’s virality to build an audience on other platforms is a better strategy.

Lastly, I’m working on an article comparing 1 million views on TikTok with 1 million views on YouTube, highlighting the earnings differences. Stay tuned for that! I hope you found this useful. Please give it a thumbs up!
