How I Went VIRAL On Tiktok By Only Posting Edits

Introduction

Introduction

14 days, 14 edits, and 14 chances to go viral on TikTok – can it be done? Well, you’re just going to have to watch the entire video, including the two mid-ad rolls, to find out. But don't worry, I will be strategic with the placement of the ads because I personally dislike when YouTubers interrupt their videos with random ads. But enough yapping, let's talk a little strategy.

Setting the Goal

To go viral, we have to stand out by making unique edits and content that’s different from the usual. I created a list of things I wanted to do, including:

  • An edit where the visuals do not match the song.
  • An edit utilizing AI to make a character say something outrageous.
  • An edit with a comedically long intro.
  • Other neat party tricks which I’ll reveal later.

Day 1: Visuals Don't Match the Song

For the first edit, I made a fun and uplifting song paired with a not-so-fun and uplifting anime. The idea was simple and I was confident it would do alright. After uploading it to TikTok and waiting overnight, it got 600 views. Not great, but a solid start.

Day 2 and Day 3: Non-Anime and Long Intro Edits

On Day 2, I decided to experiment with a non-anime edit, which didn’t perform well. Switching back to anime for Day 3, I made a long intro edit which surprisingly pulled through with a lot of likes and views.

Day 4 and Day 5: Trend Hijacking and Unique Edits

Day 4 involved editing viral footage of a meteor flying over Portugal into a “Your Name” themed edit. For Day 5, I tried something different once again but preferred to show you the results rather than just explain them. The views for these edits varied.

Day 6 to Day 12: The Grind Continues

From Day 6 to Day 12, despite having some banger edits, most of them capped out at around 200-300 views. Here’s an example of one of the edits:

You're not planning on getting voted out?
Oh come on, the situation isn't that dire...

Just so you know, I want to bust a nut in...
[Music]

Another example:

Last Friday night, yeah we danced on tabletops...

Day 13: Stroke of Luck

On Day 13, one edit from our previous days saw its views double overnight to hit 50k views, which gave me a boost of hope.

Day 14: Almost There

Day 14 saw the edit getting 94k views, just shy of our 100k goal. However, upon checking the account after a few days, I was thrilled to see our Kakashi edit had gone viral with 230k views.

Conclusion

After much hard work, I was able to achieve my goal. Thanks for watching and I'll catch you in the next one!
