How I Actually Grow & Monetize Faceless TikTok Pages (0 to 500,000 followers)

Introduction

Introduction

My channel is full of TikTok advice, tips, and tricks, but I've never actually gone through my entire TikTok journey. I realized that sharing my experience could be incredibly valuable because you learn from experience. By watching this video, you'll gain insights that I've learned along the way, which I'm sure you can apply to your own accounts and TikTok journey. So, let's get into it.

Beginning of My Journey

This is me at the end of 2021 and the start of 2022, looking much younger and eating one of my favorite foods, Kebab. As a Turkish person, I enjoy eating kebab pretty much every week. I included this photo because it was the exact day I made my New Year's goals for 2022. One of those goals, towards the bottom of my list, was to reach 500 subscribers on TikTok.

I had never even opened TikTok before in my life. I thought it was full of those dances I didn't really care about and didn't think it was a platform you could make money from. Boy, was I wrong. Going into 2022, my biggest New Year's resolution was to make money online. I wanted to find a way to make money for myself rather than just going to school or university and finding a job later. I wanted to be accountable for the money I make. Given my experience creating content for YouTube, I decided to give TikTok a shot.

First Steps

To start my journey, I created two accounts on January 1, 2022: a football account called "Why Football" and an NBA account. I used my existing YouTube content as the basis for my TikToks. Initially, I didn't get much traction, garnering around 500 views per video. This continued for about a month until my first video went viral, reaching over 100,000 views in the NBA niche. That dopamine rush from my first viral video was the motivation I needed to continue.

By posting consistently on both accounts, I quickly amassed 5,000 followers, and within about six weeks, I hit 10,000 followers and got monetized, well above my initial goal of 500 followers.

Creator Fund and First Lessons

Getting into the TikTok Creator Fund was exciting, but the payouts were relatively low. I was making around £10 to £30 per day. Despite this, I enjoyed posting and soon reached 23,000 followers. A meme I posted went viral, getting 1.8 million views. However, that account eventually got banned for "unoriginal content."

Instead of being discouraged, I used this setback as a learning experience and launched another account called "Why Inspire," focusing on motivational content. The branding was initially awful, but I soon revamped it and saw significant growth.

Major Breakthrough

I started the "Why Inspire" account on February 16, 2022. It took me a month to get to 1,000 followers and another five months to reach 500,000 followers. At 10,000 followers, I joined the Creator Fund again, which paid better this time because my content was getting more views and targeting an older demographic.

Improving my branding and being consistent in my posting habits proved crucial. By April 2022, I went from 20,000 followers to 50,000 followers in just 24 hours. Shortly after, I hit 100,000, 200,000, and eventually 400,000 followers.

Challenges and Setbacks

Despite my success, trouble loomed. In August, I got an account warning from TikTok due to multiple violations. This should have been a warning sign, but I continued, thinking it was a one-time issue.

Shadow Ban and Permanent Ban

By late August, I experienced a shadow ban. Only my followers were able to see my content, resulting in a stalled growth rate and even a loss of followers. This situation lasted a few weeks before my account was permanently banned.

Losing my account was devastating. My income, based entirely on TikTok, dropped to zero overnight. Yet, I decided to pivot and learn from the experience. I started focusing more on YouTube and other social media platforms.

Lesson Learned

Losing that account taught me valuable lessons about the importance of diversification. While I initially vowed never to return to TikTok, the platform introduced the Creativity Program, which offered better payouts. I returned and started new accounts that I keep private mainly for security reasons. Today, I continue to make money through the Creativity Program and provide TikTok consulting services.

Conclusion

My experience has been a rollercoaster, filled with highs and lows. Despite the setbacks, I have grown and learned a lot. Diversification and continuous learning are key.
