Demo Oracle Cloud Shopify Interface

Introduction

In this article, we will demonstrate the integration flow between Shopify and Oracle ERP Cloud. Our objective is to illustrate how to create an item in Oracle ERP Cloud and ensure that it flows seamlessly to Shopify. Additionally, we will create an order in Shopify for the item and showcase how that order is processed back in Oracle ERP Cloud.

Step 1: Creating an Item in Oracle ERP Cloud

To begin, we will log in to the Oracle ERP Cloud interface. The first thing we need to do is navigate to the Product Management section. From there, we will choose Product Information Management.

Once in the Product Information Management area, we will click on the task located on the right-hand side and select Create Item. At this point, we need to choose the organization for our new item. Since we are initiating a new creation, we will be using the master organization. We will select the organization labeled "Operations."

Next, we need to search for the item class; in our case, we are going with Tablet Assemblies. After selecting the item class, we will proceed to create an item, which in this demonstration will be Headphones.

After providing necessary details for the item, it is essential to define a sale price. To do this, we will navigate to the Specifications and select the Purchasing option to input the price of the item.

The next step is associating the item with an inventory organization. To do this, we’ll navigate to the Association section, click on Select, and choose our inventory organization—specifically, we will use 001. Once selected, we will click on Apply and then hit Save.

After creating the item, we have to wait for the event to be triggered, which confirms that the item has been created in Oracle ERP Cloud. It may take a moment, but the event will eventually be triggered, indicating that the integration flow is completed successfully.

Now that we have confirmed the event was triggered, let's check Shopify to ensure the item was created there.

Step 2: Confirming Item Creation in Shopify

We navigate to the Products section in Shopify. Here, we can verify if our headphones item has been successfully created.

Now that the item is created, we will create an order for this item in Shopify. We will navigate to the Orders section, click on Create Order, and search for our headphones item—selecting Add to include it in the order.

Once all item details are entered, the next step is to navigate to Collect Payment and mark the order as paid, which finalizes the creation of the order.

As before, we will check if the event for this order has been triggered. The integration will confirm that the order details have been successfully transferred to Oracle ERP Cloud.

Step 3: Verifying Order Processing in Oracle ERP Cloud

With the order number now known (1043), we move back to Oracle ERP Cloud and check if the order was created successfully. We navigate to the Order Management section to search for our order number.

Upon finding the order, we click to view its details and proceed to submit it. We’ll verify the shipment details, specifically entering the relevant warehouse from which the item will be picked. In this demonstration, we selected warehouse 001, located in Seattle.

In the shipping section, we will check all other necessary information and specify the carrier name in the general section.

Finally, we will validate and submit the sales order. The process confirms that the order has been successfully submitted using Oracle Integration Cloud as the middleware between Shopify and Oracle ERP Cloud.
