Adobe Firefly Video Model Coming Soon | Adobe Video

Introduction

At Adobe, we're committed to shaping the future of video editing, enabling creators to realize their artistic visions more efficiently while pushing creative boundaries. This past spring, we introduced early explorations of generative AI within our video applications, and we're thrilled to provide an update on the progress and new features designed to help video editors tackle common challenges.

Guided by feedback from our community, the Adobe Firefly video model is trained with creator rights at its forefront, ensuring that it is commercially safe. With Firefly’s text-to-video capabilities, users can leverage text prompts, a variety of camera controls, and reference images to generate b-roll that seamlessly fills gaps in their timelines. This allows for quick exploration of unique visual effects, the creation of elements for pre-visualization such as atmospheric overlays, or even generating inspiration for motion graphics.

In addition, our image-to-video feature enables users to breathe life into still shots or illustrations by transforming them into stunning live-action clips. A new feature, Generative Extend, which is set to debut later this year in Premiere Pro beta, will allow users to extend clips to cover gaps in footage, creating smooth transitions or holding shots longer—facilitating perfectly timed edits that enhance storytelling.

It is important to note that, similar to other Firefly generative AI models, our video model is designed with commercial safety in mind. It is exclusively trained on public domain or licensed content, never on users' personal content, allowing creators to innovate with peace of mind.

We can’t wait for you to experience these exciting new features in beta later this year.
