I got paid _____ for 1 Million Views on TikTok

Many people may not be aware that TikTok has its own inbuilt monetization program called the Creator Fund. To be eligible for this fund, users need to meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 10,000 followers
  • At least 100,000 views in the last 30 days
  • Be 18 years old
  • Reside in one of the eligible countries

Although TikTok does not officially disclose how much it pays creators, studies suggest that the payment ranges anywhere from 2 to 4 cents per 1,000 views. So, how much can one expect to earn for a million views on the platform?

On December 11th, I accumulated 951,000 views, for which TikTok paid me £16.69. This translates to approximately 1.75 pence (or 2.1 cents) per 1,000 views. Since joining the Creator Fund, my account has received a total of 3,456,000 views, earning me £62.31. When broken down, this comes out to approximately 1.8 pence per 1,000 views or 2.2 cents.

Creating each video takes me an average of three hours, including the research process. Given that I created 12 videos, this works out to an hourly rate of 1.73 pence, which is £7.77 less than the minimum wage.

By supporting through likes, follows, or subscriptions, it would greatly help to continue producing content.
